Biscuit City






















Created by Chinese artist Song Dong in the basement of London Selfridges.72,000 biscuits were used in total to construct the 'Biscuit city' including Chocolate Digestives, Rich Tea, HobNobs and Fruit Shortcakes. The 'biscuit city' is being offered to shoppers accompanied with a cup of tea for dunking!

盲人和导盲犬


一天,一个盲人带着他的导盲犬过街时,一辆大卡车失去控制,直冲过来,盲人当场被撞死,他的导盲犬为了守护主人,也一起惨死在车轮底下。


主人和狗一起到了天堂门前。一个天使拦住他俩,为难他说:“对不起,现在天堂只剩下一个名额,你们两个中必须有一个去地狱。”主人一听连忙问:“我的狗又不知道什么是天堂,什么是地狱,能不能让我来决定谁去天堂呢?”


天使鄙视的看了这个主人一眼,皱起了眉头,想了一想说:“很抱歉,先生,每一个灵魂都是平等的,你们要通过比赛决定由谁上天堂。”主人失望的说:“哦,什么比赛呢?”

天使说:“这个比赛很简单,就是赛跑,从这里跑到天堂的大门,谁先到达目的地,谁就可以上天堂。不过,你也别担心,因为你已经死了,所以不再是瞎子,而且灵魂的速度跟肉体无关,越单纯善良的人速度越快。”主人想了想,同意了!

天使然主人和狗准备好,就宣布赛跑开始。他满心以为主人为了进天堂,会拼命往前奔,谁知道主人一点也不忙,慢吞吞的往前走着。更令天使吃惊的事,那条道盲犬也没有奔跑,它配合着主人的步调在旁边慢慢跟着,一步都不肯离开主人。天使恍然大悟:原来多年来,这条道盲犬已经养成习惯,永远跟着主任行动,在主人的前方守护着他。可恶的主人,正是利用了这一点,才胸有成竹、稳操胜券,他只要在天堂门口叫他的狗停下来,就能轻轻松松赢得比赛。

天使看着这条忠心耿耿的狗,心里很难过,他大声对狗说:“你已经为你主人献出了生命。现在,你这个主任不再是瞎子,你也不用领着她走路了,你快跑进天堂吧!”可是,无论主人还是狗,都像是没有听到天使的话一样,仍然慢吞吞的往前走,好像在街上散步似的。果然,离终点还有几步的时候,主人发出一声口令,狗听话的坐下了,天使用鄙视的眼神看着主人。这时,主人笑了,他扭过头对天使说:“我终于把我的狗送到天堂了,我最担心的就是它根本不想上天堂,只想跟我在一起......所以我才想帮它决定,请你好好照顾它。”

天使愣住了。主人留恋地看着自己的狗,有说:“能够用比赛的方式决定实在是太好了,只要我再让她往前走几步,它就可以上天堂了。不过它陪了我那么多年,这是我第一次可以用自己的眼睛看着它,所以我忍不住想要慢慢地走,多看它一会儿。如果可以的话,我真希望永远看着它走下去。不过天堂到了,那才是它该去的地方,请照顾好它。”

说完这些话,主人向狗发出了前进的命令,就在狗到达终点的一刹那,主人像一片羽毛似的落向了地狱的方向。他的狗见了,急忙掉转头,追着主人狂奔。满心懊悔的天使张靠开翅膀追过去,想要抓住导盲犬,不过那是世上最纯洁善良的灵魂,速度远比天堂所有的天使都快。

所以导盲犬又跟主人在一起了,即使是地狱,导盲犬也永远守护着它的主人。天使久久地站在那里,喃喃说道:“我一开始就错了,这两个灵魂是一体的,他们不能分开.............................”

珍惜


我曾经听过一个故事!那是一对很相爱的恋人,孩有着美丽的梦想,到浪漫市巴黎去,可是男孩很穷,一直没办法帮完成梦想!只能在他生日时亲手折上一千只纸鹤送她,而突然对男孩说:“我们分手吧!我认识一位有钱的公子,他要带我到巴黎去,你那么穷,跟着你我这辈子都不会有这种机会!”

男孩听了受不了打击,从此努力工作,再加上贵人的帮助,短短的三年间他已是一家上市公司的经理!当他容升这个位子时,他想到的第一件事,就是去向
炫耀.............当时已是大雨纷纷的清明节了!他来到的家,坐在加长的马塞地里,他看到两个老人撑着上走在路上,一眼就认出那是 的父母,他看到老人手上的香烛。他傻了,在老人的告知下,他终于明白走了!

的了癌症,不想拖累男孩才离开他的,也因此病发。他恨自己,为什么没有去寻找答案?他来到坟前,看见她送她的千只纸鹤,他抱着的墓碑痛哭........千只纸鹤在雨中纷飞!请好好珍惜身边爱你的人!

Good and bad habit



1. 起床先疊被

人體本身─也是一個污染源。在一夜的睡眠中,人體的皮膚會排出大量的水蒸氣,使被子不同程度地受潮。人的呼吸和分布全身的毛孔所排出的化學物質有 145 種,從汗液中蒸發的化學物質有 151 種。被子吸收或吸附水分和氣體,如不讓其散發出去,起床就立即疊被,易使被子受潮及受化學物質污染。



2. 不吃早餐

不吃早餐的人則通常飲食無規律,容易感到疲倦,頭暈無力,天長日久就會造成 營養不良、貧血、抵抗力降低 ,並會產生 胰、膽結石 。


3. 飯後鬆褲帶

飯後鬆褲帶可使腹腔內壓下降,消化器官的活動與韌帶的負荷量增加,從而促使腸子蠕動加劇,易發生腸扭轉,使人 腹脹、腹痛、嘔吐 ,還容易患 胃下垂 等病。


4. 飯後即睡

飯後即睡會使大腦的血液流向胃部,由於血壓降低,大腦的供氧量也隨之減少,造成飯後極度疲倦,易引起心口灼熱及消化不良,還會發胖。如果血液原已有供應不足的情況,飯後倒下便睡,這種靜止不動的狀態,極易招致 中風 。

5. 飽食

飽食容易引起 記憶力下降, 思維遲鈍,注意力不集中, 應激能力減弱。經常飽食,尤其是過飽的晚餐,因熱量攝入太多,會使體內脂肪過剩,血脂增高,導致腦動脈粥樣硬化。還會引起一種叫 "纖維芽細胞生長因子"的物質在大腦中數以萬倍增長,這是一種促使動脈硬化的蛋白質。腦動脈硬化的結果會導致大腦缺氧和缺乏營養,影響腦細胞的新陳代謝。經常飽食,還會誘發 膽結石、膽囊炎、糖尿病 等疾病,使人未老先衰,壽命縮短。


6. 空腹吃糖

越來越多的証據表明,空腹吃糖的嗜好時間越長,對各種 蛋白質吸收的損傷 程度越重。由於蛋白質是生命活動的基礎,因而長期的空腹吃糖,更會影響人體各種正常機能,使人體變得衰弱以致縮短壽命。


7. 吃太鹹的食物

鈉在人體內滯留,容易形成或加重 高血壓和心臟病 。

8. 留鬍子

鬍子具有 吸附有害物質 的性能。當人吸氣時,被吸附在鬍子上的有害物質就有可能被吸入呼吸道內。據對留有鬍子的人吸入的空氣成分進行定量分析,發現吸進的空氣中含有幾十種有害物質,其中包括 酚、甲苯、丙酮、異戊問二烯 等多種致癌物,留有鬍子的人吸入的空氣污染指數,是普通空氣的 4.2 倍。如果下巴有鬍子,又留八字鬍,其污染指數可高達 7.2 倍再加上抽煙 因素,污染指數將高達 普通空氣的50 倍 。

9. 蹺二郎腿

蹺二郎腿會使腿部血流不暢,影響健康。如果是靜脈瘤、關節炎、神經痛、靜脈血栓患者,蹺腿會使病情更加嚴重。尤其是腿長的人或孕婦,很容易得 靜脈血栓 。

10. 瞇眼看東西、揉擦眼睛

瞇眼看東西,眼角易出現魚尾狀皺紋。習慣性瞇眼還可使眼肌疲勞、眼花頭疼。揉眼時,病菌會由手部傳染眼睛,導致發炎、睫毛折斷或脫落。

11. 強忍小便

強忍小便有可能造成 急性膀胱炎 ,出現尿頻、尿疼、小腹脹疼等症狀。美國科學家發布的一份研究報告指出,有憋尿習慣的人患 膀胱癌的可能性比一般人高 5 倍。憋尿時,膀胱貯存的尿液不能及時排出,形成人為的尿瀦留。如經常憋尿,就會使括約肌和逼尿肌常常處於緊張狀態;
如果憋尿時間過長,膀胱內尿量不斷增加,還會使內壓逐漸升高,時間長了就會發生膀胱頸受阻症狀,造成 排尿困難、不暢 ,或 漏尿、尿失禁 等毛病。在尿瀦留時還易引起並發感染和結石 ,嚴重時還影響 腎功能 。



12. 伏案午睡

一般人在伏案午睡後會出現暫時性的視力模糊,原因就是眼球受到壓迫,引起角膜變形、弧度改變造成的。倘若每天都壓迫眼球,會造成眼壓過高 ,長此下去視力就會受到損害 。


13. 俯睡 ( 趴著睡 )

俯睡使脊柱彎曲 , 增加肌肉及韌帶的壓力,使人在睡覺時仍然得不到休息。此外,還會增加胸部、心臟、肺部及面部的壓力,導致睡醒後 面部浮腫 ,眼睛出現血絲。

14. 睡前不洗臉

留在臉上的化妝品不洗掉,會引起粉刺和針眼之類的炎症,還能使眼睛發炎,引起 皮膚過敏反應。

Banana




Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!! This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again .

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.


Depression:

According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:

Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.


Brain Power:

200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:

High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:

one of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.


Morning Sickness:

Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.


Mosquito bites:

Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature

Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.


Smoking & Tobacco Use:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and ma gnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:

Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:

According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, 'eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:

Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!


So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals.
